If you had an unforgettable experience hosting an international student, now this is the perfect time to let others do the same! When you refer a qualified host family who provides homestay for an international student through SRS for more than 30 consecutive days, you will be eligible to receive a $25 Amazon gift card. Friends or family members who are welcoming, open to new experiences and have an extra bedroom in their home are the perfect candidates for hosting.

Referral Program FAQs
We are is always looking for welcoming host families to host international students. If you refer a host family that gets matched and hosts a student for more than 30 consecutive days, you will be eligible to receive a $25 Amazon gift card.
Your referral must:
1. Complete the application process as a qualified host family.
2. Pass a criminal background check.
3. Host an international student through SRS for more than 30 consecutive days.
Traditional families, non-traditional families, single people, roommates and friends living together – any person or group who is willing to share daily life with an international student can be a host!
Our hosts must be able to:
-Provide a private bedroom
-Pass a criminal background check
-Pass an in-home interview
-Complete our host training
-Provide meals (if included in their package)
-Make sure the student feels welcome and comfortable during their time in the United States.
Our host families will ideally be interested in their student's culture and eager to help them adjust to life in America.
Yes, all SRS host families receive a stipend to offset the cost of hosting an international student.
Only one person can receive a referral gift card per eligible host family. The gift card will go to whoever referred the host family first.
We encourage you to refer as many friends and family members as you'd like! You will recieve a gift card for each referral who hosts a SRS student for more than 30 consecutive days.
You may only refer the same family one time.
If we notify you that you are eligible to receive your Amazon gift card, you must provide us with your current email address and we will send it to you via email.
Yes. You must be a legal resident of the United States and at least 18 years of age.
You are not required to be actively hosting with us in order to receive credit for referring a friend or family member.
Our program lengths vary, but international students typically stay for a summer program (1-3 months), a semester or the entire school year (around nine months).
The majority of our international students are in high school, but the ages can range from middle school through college.
